Single vertical soft yellow flame, produced with a thumb flick of the flint wheel as in the Zippo-type action. Squeezing the side increases the amount of fuel and thus the temporary flame height.
Refilling is via a brass nipple located in the free-standing bottom and it is protected by a notched brass sleeve allowing adjustment of the flame height by rotating the sleeve with a screwdriver.
+ and - signs inscribed on the base indicate the directions of rotation to permanently increase or decrease the flame height.
